Drawing of a girl with pearl earing

Pencil drawing of a 1665 oil painting by Johannes Vermeer, painted in the Golden Age of Dutch painting.

The drawing was created by covering the whole picture with pencil and then lifting off the highlights with a rubber.

Pencil drawing of a girl from Afghanistan.
Copied from a very famous photograph.

I love the one of the girl from Afganistan..the eyes just look right out at you!

I love pencil drawings..that's about all I do and have for most of my life..something about the shading the dark and light. I also like black and white movies for the same reason. Hard to explain to people.

If you scroll through my blog archive from way back you will see quite a few of my pencil portrait drawings.
